Website maintenance and QA executive

This role is for someone who likes getting into the detail. The role is split between maintaining our client's websites - ensuring that the codebases are kept up to date, and being responsible for quality assurance – testing, checking and ensuring our output is the highest quality.

The role specifics

Maintaining our live client websites:

  • Applying updates for WordPress core and plugins*
  • Testing website functionality against test plans
  • Visually checking websites across devices and screen sizes

Checking (QA) website production at key stages against design and development test plans

Website reviews – Looking for improvement opportunities, working with account managers and supporting new business activities

Reporting and communicating specific information and trends to internal stakeholders.

You will:

  • Have excellent attention to detail and work with extreme accuracy (our client’s websites will be in your hands!)
  • Be able to communicate confidently
  • Work well on your own and in a wider team
  • Enjoy a process, detail driven role
  • Have excellent admin discipline.

Desired skills/experience:

  • A solid understanding of digital production processes (websites/apps/emailers, etc.)
  • WordPress CMS admin/backend
  • QA/testing
  • MS Office.

*Note that this is not a development role, but confidence with technology is a must. Running code updates is a formulated, process-driven task that does not require coding skill. Training and support will be provided.

What’s it like working at Rouge?

Rouge Media is a digital design and development agency. We have a full range of clients from start-ups to large corporates. We deliver and support WordPress marketing sites, powerful web applications and everything in between. This breadth and range keeps us stable and secure as a business, and the variety keeps day-to-day work exciting and varied.

All our designers and developers work closely as a team. Problems get solved together. We spend time working on our own, but never in isolation.

One of the founding philosophies of the business was to protect a work-life balance. We believe that staying late, night after night, doesn’t mean more work gets done. So we try not to do it. We work hard, but we work efficiently.

We are easy to get to and well connected despite working in a village. We are right by Junction 12 of the M4. Rouge is 5 minutes walk from Theale train station, with direct trains to London Paddington.

What are the benefits of working at Rouge?

We think Rouge is a special place to work, and a business is nothing without its people. We love the paths we have chosen, and we love working together, even on a Monday Morning! Here are some of the other perks:

Working from home flexibility.
